Fun Facts about Miss. Brown
-
I've wanted to be a teacher since I was in Kindergarten. My mother was an Elementary School Teacher for 32 years, and my love for learning and the classroom is the result of her passion-among the passions of many other teachers along the way.
-
My favorite subject is English Language Arts. I have always enjoyed the adventures that a good book can take you on and the freedom that comes when we put pencil to paper.
-
If I had to choose one thing to carry into the classroom every day, it would be coffee. My students quickly learn that this is my "go go juice."
-
My favorite food is-currently-chips and salsa. I go back and forth between this and Chick-fil-A chicken nuggets.
-
Some of my hobbies include running, reading, and going to Boone or the beach any chance I have. I also enjoy baking and watching Disney movies.

Passion from the Start
I am often asked why I chose this profession. Many times, statements are made that link this rewarding profession to the woes of the world. People often wonder why teachers enter a field with such low pay, long hours, and the list goes on. While you are here, I am here to tell offer you encouragement in the fact that like millions of other professional educators, I am solely in this role because educating and impacting future generations is my passion, and it has been since I, myself, was in Kindergarten. I can still remember the sights and sounds of my elementary school. Actually, those sights and sounds were more familiar to me than most students because I had walked them many times with my mother, who was an educator for 32 years. As a Kindergarten student myself, the only career I knew was teaching, and I knew that I wanted to enter this field myself someday. Fortunately, this was a passion that only grew. It has never once faded. As I have grown up and had countless opportunities to volunteer, intern, student teach, and, now, teach, it is impossible for me to imagine myself doing anything else. Watching children enter my classroom and find themselves and their passions will always fill my cup. It is my goal and sole intent to help guide your child in finding her or her passions from the start just like my teachers, and many of our teachers, did for me and you.
